Join Tondo’s Circular Threads 2.0 webinar on April 2, 2025, to explore circular economy in textiles.
3 Marzo 2025
On April 2, 2025, Tondo will host a presentation webinar for the Circular Threads 2.0 study. The webinar will be held online on the Zoom platform, and will last approximately one hour.
Circular Threads 2.0 is an initiative developed by Tondo APS, in collaboration with partners Fondazione Pistoletto, Associazione Tessile e Salute, and LIUC Cattaneo University, which continues the work started with the previous Circular Threads study in 2021. The project focuses on the Italian textile industry, identifying opportunities and obstacles for implementing circular economy models. The initiative aims to accelerate the rate of recycling, reuse and material recovery in textiles, promoting eco-design and the transition to a more sustainable industry, including through the involvement of virtuous companies and districts such as Biella and Prato.
Circular Threads 2.0 aims to analyze the current state of the textile and fashion industry in Italy, highlighting challenges and opportunities related to the transition to the circular economy. The project is divided into five main phases:
- Desk research - Analysis of sustainable and circular practices adopted at the company and industry level, with a focus on existing collaborations and partnerships that promote virtuous behaviors.
- Questionnaire - Structured survey with closed and open-ended questions to collect and understand companies' perceptions of the circular economy and implementation of sustainable practices.
- Social Network Analysis - Study of connections and relationships between actors in the system to understand their dynamics and synergies.
- Case Studies - In-depth analysis of specific companies or products to measure their level of circularity achieved.
- Mapping of innovative and circular projects - Collection and dissemination of small-scale experimental initiatives aimed at testing and validating sustainable and circular practices within companies or entire sectors.
The analysis conducted through these tools has enabled the collection of quantitative and qualitative data, providing an up-to-date mapping of the sector. Comparison with the results of the 2021 Circular Threads study highlighted both the progress made and the critical issues still present, providing a solid basis for defining future actions.
The webinar will illustrate the main themes of the report, and will be enhanced by the participation of some of the companies that were mentioned in the study, who will briefly tell their stories and elaborate on the relationship between the textile industry and sustainability.
The initiative was realized with the contribution of Cassa di Risparmio di Biella and Invitalia.
Participation in the webinar is free after booking on Eventbrite. We look forward to seeing you!
